Mercator Press

type of publications

All publications have been hand-set in letterpress or wooden letters or a combination. Nearly all publications are sewn and provided with a strong binding. The sewing is usually done by Carolien Verdam. A few have hardcovers and slipcases. Professional handbinders having worked for Mercator Press include David Simileavich, formerly in Amsterdam, and Erik Schots, at Krommenie. Most publications contain illustrations, some of them greatly enhancing the artistic value. See also the chapter Information.
